About Clarice Obrador

Professional acccomplishments, past and present

Clarice Obrador currently serves as a strategic analyst at Steiner Lafferty Johnson (SLJ) in San Francisco, one of the leading renewable energy consulting firms in the US. In her current role, she advises utility companies, developers, and manufacturers on the feasibility of grid-scale renewable energy projects. As such, Clarice works closely with many of the firm’s top clients.

Clarice comes to this role with significant experience in the clean energy industry, having previously served as a systems engineer and project lead at EQS Renewables, where she oversaw the design and installation of of over 400 GWh of solar and wind capacity, primarily in the American south. She holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from UC Davis.

Passionate about transitioning our energy systems away from fossil fuels, Clarice Obrador is also involved with a number of clean energy advocacy groups, and she is a member in good standing of the American Council on Renewal Energy (ACORE). In particular, she has an interest in low-cost distributed solar appropriate for rural communities in developing countries, where access to electricity can play a key role in upward mobility. Over the past few years, she has twice traveled to Haiti and Nicaragua with Solar Energy International to conduct volunteer photovoltaic technician training.
